The Onion On My Internet Belt

We are, here in Minnesota, in the last stretch before Spring arrives. But let’s not kid ourselves. There is a month of winter left. Still, the finish line is in sight.

Yesterday I went to the Electric Fetus and picked up “Standards” by Lloyd Cole, from Omnivore Records. Omnivore recently reissued the second Trip Shakespeare album and it was brilliant not only for the colored vinyl it came on (with digital download card) but for the quality of the sound. Anyway, I picked up the Lloyd Cole album (on clear vinyl, also with download card). I was glad there was a place in the Cities I could go to pick this up and not have to get it from the web. Downside? I spent $50 on the original “Tron” soundtrack on virgin 180gm vinyl (numbered limited edition). That is the most expensive new album I’ve bought and the second most expensive ever. I think the days of fun but cheap records might be past.
